Earth Day at the Science Library
In-Person
The Science Library will be holding an Earth Day event on April 22 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Come join us to celebrate Earth Day at the Science Library Atrium! The theme this Earth Day is Our Power, Our Planet.
Activities include:
- Plant a small plant, such as a pansy, in a peat pot and take it with you!
- Materials provided while supplies last
- Plant giveaway begins at 12pm
- An announcement of the campus Terra Award winners for this year
- This award recognizes faculty, staff, and student leaders in sustainability on campus
- Terra Awards begin at 12pm
- Learn about plastic pollution and what you can do to help reduce it
- Learn about renewable energy
- Spin our wheel to answer Earth Day questions and win prizes
- Learn how to find UAlbany library books related to Earth Day topics
- Relax with some coloring pages
- Find them next to the circulation desk on the first floor all day
This event is a collaboration and will feature tabling, activities, and information from members of the:
- Department of Biological Sciences
- Department of Geography, Planning, and Sustainability
- Three student groups (details coming)
- Office of Sustainability
- University Libraries
- UUP
- Additional departments may be joining, as well. Stay tuned!
