Celebrate the Freedom to Read: Drag Queen Story Time with Noelle Diamond
Event box
Join us for the third annual Drag Queen Story Time at the University Library, featuring returning guest Noelle Diamond, as part of the Libraries’ Beyond Banned Books Week programming series. This ongoing initiative explores censorship, inclusion, and advocacy year-round because the conversation doesn’t end when Banned Books Week does.
We’ll begin the evening with Drag Queen Story Time with local drag performer, Noelle Diamond, celebrating the joy, creativity, and community that reading brings. Following the story time, stay for a panel discussion that delves into the banning of queer literature, the censorship of drag queen story times, and the role of advocacy and allyship in defending the freedom to read and express.
This program is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the University Libraries and the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC). Light refreshments will be available.
Registration is preferred, but not required.
