Climate Art: A (Mostly) New York State Experience In-Person

Get involved in the Climate Change conversation and how it impacts us all! Bring your friends and join students and faculty from across campus for pizza in the University Library's Minerva Room.

What you can expect:

  • Screening of the short film, Climate Art: A (Mostly) New York State Experience, by the New York State Public Health Association (NYSPHA). This film features climate-centered art from around the state that is meant to inspire conversation and action
  • An after-film discussion centered around
    • Art as a tool for advocacy
    • How to talk about the climate with friends and family
    • Current issues such as: preparing for extreme weather, the fuss about data centers, questions around renewable energy, and what it means to have the new statewide K-12 Climate Education curriculum.
  • Librarians will also display some of their favorite climate fiction and non-fiction books, available to borrow after the event!

This is a great chance to connect over pizza with other students on campus, curious about or interested in climate action. As author and climate scientist Katherine Hayhoe says, "The best thing we can do to address climate change is to talk about it."
